Sailors, Fisherman, Ironman to Los Cabos

October, 2018

As if Los Cabos didn’t have enough things to keep you occupied, come late October your bucket list might overflow with world class activities at the tip of the Baja California peninsula.

Often referred to as Mexico with a pinch of California, the laid-back vibe of Los Cabos coupled with amazing scenery and perfect weather may be why this popular tourist destination is also quickly becoming the epicenter for all types of adventures to feed your competitive nature.

Whether you’re looking for an exciting sailing adventure, want to partake in the richest fishing tournament in the world or have your sights set on proving your endurance as one of the best athletes in the world – or at least want to watch those supreme competitors -- here is what to look out for in Los Cabos for the most avid of traveling sportsmen and sportswomen.

World class activities in Los Cabos

Ironman Los Cabos

What better place to test your personal physical limits on land and sea than in a tropical paradise? Enter IRONMAN, Los Cabos style.

Come November, the stunning landscape of Los Cabos will provide the backdrop for the IRONMAN 70.3 Los Cabos where competitors will compete in a swim in the Sea of Cortez, a challenging and scenic bike course where desert meets the ocean, and a rolling 21 km run, all vying for qualifying slots for the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.

If you got what it takes to even attempt this ultimate test of strength and perseverance, the least you can do is treat yourself to a little unadulterated pampering after the race - which is easy to do at  Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos. From indulging in decadent meals to relieving those tired muscles with a hot stone massage, the resort has all of your post-race needs covered.

Participate in the Baja Ha Ha sailing event

Bisbee’s Black and Blue Tournament

For over 30 years, fishermen from around the globe have gathered every October to prove their worth as a master angler at the exclusive Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournament (October 24–28), where lines are cast in search of the region’s marlin over five days.

Considered one of the most prestigious (and largest paying) marlin tournaments in the world, competitors in the Bisbee’s Black and Blue are all just a marlin away from becoming a millionaire, with teams earning almost all of the four million dollars for catching the largest marlins each day of the competition.

Along with a daily jackpot that is divided among the highest-placing fishermen, the tournament also offers awards to the best captains and the best teams, taking into account the points from fishing other smaller species, such as dorado, tuna, and wahoo.

Baja Ha Ha

Are you a seasoned traveler of the salty seas - and have two weeks to spare? Then the prestigious Baja Ha Ha is a sailing event you just can't miss.

For a quarter of a century, the 750-mile rally from San Diego to Los Cabos known as the Baja Ha-Ha (October 29–November 11) has brought together experienced seamen from around the world, all looking to leisurely sail the open seas. With stops at Bahia Tortuga and Bahia Santa Maria, seasoned sailors with vessels 27 feet and over aim to sail the whole course without a motor, all while enjoying the beautiful seas and gorgeous weather found at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.

After two weeks on the ocean, there’s no better way to regain your ‘land legs’ than with a stay at the five-star luxury resort, Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos, where you can take in the full beauty of Los Cabos all while enjoying the state-of-the-art spa, international restaurants, and world-class amenities.

Excellent service from public relations in Cancun!

I had an amazing experience from Jesuri and Maximo at Moon Palace Cancun! Jesuri came to our rescue during a really tough moment where we had no one else to count on.

Moon Palace Sunrise and Nizuc

We had another great stay at Moon Palace Sunrise. Service was great. We wanted to especially thank Sheila Ramirez Brott who was one of our servers by the pool. She was very friendly and very personable.
